Top 10 reasons for failure in home business

0
Digg me

Before starting your home business, you need to think long and hard of the possibilities of failure and what you need to do to get passed the roadblocks and succeed.

When you are starting your home business the last thing you want to focus on is failure. If you address the common areas for failure upfront you will no doubt succeed.

Here are some expert opinions about what a business owner should and shouldn’t do to keep a new business afloat.

1. You start your business for the wrong reasons.
Would the sole reason you would be starting your own business be that you would want to make a lot of money? Or maybe that you wouldn’t have to answer to anyone else? If so, you’d better think again.

On the other hand, if you start your business for these reasons, you’ll have a better chance at winning success:

· You have a passion and love for what you’ll be doing, and strongly believe based on study and investigation that your product or service would fulfill a real need in the marketplace.
· You are physically fit and possess the needed mental stamina to withstand potential challenges.
· You have drive, determination, patience and a positive attitude.
· Failures don’t defeat you. You learn from your mistakes, and use these lessons to succeed the next time around.
· You thrive on independence, and are skilled at taking charge when a creative or intelligent solution is needed.
· You get along with and can deal with all different types of individuals.

2. Poor Management

Many home businesses fail due to poor management. New business owners frequently lack relevant business and management expertise in areas such as finance, purchasing, selling, production, and hiring and managing employees. Unless you recognize what you don’t do well, and seek help, you may soon face disaster.

Neglect of a business can also be its downfall. Care must be taken to regularly study, organize, plan and control all activities of its operations. This includes the continuing study of market research and customer data, an area which may be ignored by many once a business has been established.

3. Insufficient Capital

Another common for a home business is to have insufficient funds for operations. Many home Business owners underestimate how much money is needed and they are forced to close before they even have had a fair chance to succeed. They also may have an unrealistic expectation of incoming revenues from sales.

It is equally important to consider not only the costs of starting, but the costs of staying in business. It is important to take into consideration that many businesses take a year or two to get going. This means you will need enough funds to cover all costs until sales can eventually pay for these costs.

4. Location

Location is critical to the success of your business. Whereas a good location may enable a struggling business to ultimately survive and thrive, a bad location could spell disaster to even the best-managed home business.

Some factors to consider:

· Where your customers are
· Traffic, accessibility, parking and lighting
· Location of competitors
· Condition and safety of building
· Local incentive programs for business start-ups in specific targeted areas
· The history, community flavor and receptiveness to a new business at a prospective site

5. Lack of Planning

Anyone who has ever been in charge of a successful major event knows that were if not for their careful, methodical, strategic planning and hard work success would not have followed. The same could be said of most business successes.

It is critical for your home business to have a business plan. Many fail because of fundamental shortcomings in their business planning. It must be realistic and based on accurate, current information and educated projections for the future.

Components may include:

· Description of the business, vision, goals, and keys to success
· Work force needs
· Potential problems and solutions
· Financial: capital equipment and supply list, balance sheet, income statement and cash flow analysis, sales and expense forecast
· Analysis of competition
· Marketing, advertising and promotional activities
· Budgeting and managing company growth

6. Lack of time you can spend on the business

Many people start a home business on a part-time basis while raising children or working outside the home. Others start full-time when family and finances allow. However you begin, figure out how may hours per week you can devote to the business. Make a weekly chart of your activities, examine it, and determine where the business fits. Don’t assume you have time and find out later you don’t.

7. Negative attitude towards the business

Negative attitude will take you nowhere. Invariably having a positive attitude towards your business and life in general will encourage you to move on.

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.” Mark Twain

8. Lack of Commitment towards your efforts.

The owners of successful home businesses are the ones who are committed towards their efforts in making the business a success. You cannot achieve success without working towards it. Failing to do so will only make your business a failure before you even realize it.

“The only place you’ll find success before work is in the dictionary.” May B. Smith

9. No Website

Simply put, if you have a business today, you need a website.

At the very least, every business should have a professional looking and well-designed website that enables users to easily find out about your business. Later, additional ways to generate revenue on the website can be added; i.e., selling ad space, drop-shipping products, or recommending affiliate products.

Remember, if you don’t have a website, you’ll most likely be losing business to those that do. And make sure that website makes your business look good, not bad - you want to increase revenues after all, not decrease them.

10. Forget the success factors

When it comes to the success of any new business, you - the business owner - are ultimately the “secret” to your success. For many successful business owners, failure was never an option. Armed with drive, determination, and a positive mindset, these individuals view any setback as only an opportunity to learn and grow. Most self-made millionaires possess average intelligence. What sets them apart is their openness to new knowledge and their willingness to learn whatever it takes to succeed.

So finally, you don’t have to be one of those unfortunate people. All you need to do is to become more informed, take the necessary steps when required and know what to do!

“Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” Thomas Edison

There is no secret that over the past several months it has become much more difficult to capture potential customers names and a valid email addresses. There are stats that say the numbers have decreased as much as 64% over the past 23 months.

So what is the answer to this dilemma?

Many marketers that I have talked to feel that well known prolific marketer Dale Calvert has come up with the solution. The website is located at

Click here to get FreeRKCD Affiliate Program

Dale’s answer seems simple. Give your visitors something of value, free even, and mail it to them via the postal service they MUST GIVE YOU THEIR CORRECT DATA to receive the package. It makes obvious sense to me, what about you?

For a small monthly fee, of only $19.97, Mr. Calvert will send out an unlimited number of Robert Kiyosaki DVD’s to your potential customers that visit your site.

This is NOT a digital download, this is a physical DVD sent through postal mail on your behalf to your potential customers and clients. The book is from the best selling author of the Rich Dad / Poor Dad series. Robert does an outstanding job getting the message through to anyone that will listen. This will get customers and clients alike!

Mr. Calvert’s organization will mail an unlimited amount of these Free CD’s on your behalf every month for only 19.97 monthly. 1 or 1,000, it may sound too good to be true, yet does that mean you should stop looking? You can get all the details by CLICKING HERE.

I believe the Calvert Marketing Group has hit a grand slam homerun with this new program. Initial reports indicate many top marketers are using this system and potential customers are responding to the Free CD offer.

ACN, The Video Phone Revolution Is HERE

1
Digg me

The year has not been so kind to people, gas prices seemed as though everyone was going to have to a small car or motorcycle because it looked like prices were going to kill every one. It started to look like people were going to be working either for gas, or for food. That in itself was a bit weird and scarry. Then we are skipping along thinking things were ok, hey I can afford gas at that price, right? And again, wham, stocks went from bad to a full scale CRASH. WOW, what happened, you gotta be kidding, Lehman Brothers, started in 1850, OUT OF BUSINESS! What??

Then one by one they started falling like a house of cards. Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, how in the he#@ could this happen? Like it or not, we might as well get use to it. It happened, and now we must move forward, yet how can that be done? Your pension you were creating may be gone, your hard work, planning, trading, saving, all squashed like a corporate bug!

There is good news!!! Yes there is. There is a business opportunity that is touted by billionaires as being basically recession proof, the business of the 21st century, a gem amongst the stones. It is a $100 million dollar industry, yes One Hundred MILLION, and growing. The business is direct selling, referral marketing, one to one marketing.

Ever eaten somewhere and told your friends about it, you marketed that business for free. Every watch a movie and tell your friends, and they went, paid, and watched it? You Referred them and the theater made money, from your marketing! I could go on and on, I believe you get the picture.

Then if I wanted to get into what you can accomplish with a direct selling business we’d talk about how you can finally achieve financial success, low start up cost (to own your own business), and the fact that you can really find REAL tax benefits.

I’ll not go on, move yourself forward, even in this current economic climate. Set your self free, time freedom, financial freedom, and get ahead finally. Warren Buffet (billionaire) called direct selling “The Best Investment He Ever Made”.

Find out how to ADVANCE

Linear Income Vs. Residual Income

1
Digg me

I want to start this discussion by looking at what I believe to be the most powerful way that I have found to secure a financial future. The key here is, understanding the difference between residual and linear income. I promise you that as you read this article, and even re-read it, it may very well change your life and thinking.

The first thing ask is that you read with an open mind, you can be skeptical, but be open minded at the same time. Please be open-minded enough to want to learn and grow with this new knowledge, yet be skeptical enough to try to get the facts before you make any kind of decision.

I’ll start by simply sharing a few statistics that just may have you rethink, what you do to earn a living. It’s not my purpose to bore you with a bunch of details and facts, yet, they are very important for the purpose of our discussion. So here it is! Were you aware that 95% of our population is currently retiring broke? And are you aware that today only 1 out of 10 college graduates work in their field of study? Did you know that the average person in this country is only a couple of paychecks away from bankruptcy! And, the final blow, did you know that the average household in this country has two full-time and one part-time job, just to pay the bills? Does this describe you or someone you know?

Have you ever really taken the time to plan your financial future? As you can see from the stats above most of us don’t have a plan! Where do you see yourself in 5 to 10 years from now, will you be better off, set for retirement, or scratching your head wondering what happened? Do work, just to pay the bills, or do you work because you absolutely love doing what you do? Do you find yourself just making ends meet, making enough to “live” but not enough to do what ever you really want, working just hard enough so you don’t get fired?

I started looking for options for personal growth and security. The reason you are reading this article today is because I found one of the only options in these very difficult economic times for the average person to change the quality of his or her life forever!

Truthfully, would your life really be better if you spent many, many years reaching the highest level of your company ladder, just to get “restructured”? Sure, you’d have more money and prestige. But at what cost? We’ve all heard the stories about the hours, and the pressures. Companies operate on sales revenues, less expenses; fewer expenses mean more profits. Your paycheck is an expense. Smart businesses keep their expenses as minimal as possible. After your company has paid you for your time, how much money do they actually owe you? Zip, zilch, nadda! If you work for the company for fifteen years, after they’ve paid you that final paycheck, the company still owes you zero. You have been paid on your work effort.

What if you were to work five years and the company would pay you ongoing income from then on? Not a half-pay retirement plan.

Which sounds better, 40 hours a week for 40 years or 20 hours a week for 5 years (that’s a couple hours a day Mon-Fri)? Spending 8 hours day at your job doing what they tell you to do; or doing what you want when you want, for as long as you want? Getting a paycheck and hoping you’ll have something left after you pay your bills - or having more money then you could spend. Should I give you a minute to think about it?

At a job, what must you do to make more money? Work overtime, move up the “ladder”, and get promoted? How about a teacher, how can they make more money, more education $$? A second job? How about taking a look at something that pays residual, passive lifelong income? Something that pays you even after you’ve done the work, over and over. That is what you can expect with ACN, put in the effort one time, work when you want, as much or as little as you want, for a short reasonable time and live like you want for a long time!

Contact me and let’s discuss your options, get going and get out of the rat race once and for all!

ACN, Where Are They Headed, Should You Head There?

0
Digg me

ACN is company that offers you a tremendous home-based business opportunity. ACN is the world’s largest direct selling telecommunications service provider. ACN is growing rapidly, yet it has not even scratched the surface of the gigantic $1 trillion telecommunications industry.

ACN’s direct selling opportunity has helped hundreds of thousands of people just like you control their destiny and build successful home-based businesses. ACN started in 1993 in the USA and is now active in 18 countries (and counting) in 3 continents worldwide. ACN has been highlighted in magazines such as Fortune, Inc 500 (ACN was named the 22nd fastest growing private company in the USA and one of the most profitable), Success Magazine, and many more. ACN provides several services, and all of ACN’s services are for things that people use every day. ACN has been around for over a decade, and in that time they have tested many things and found out what works and what doesn’t. ACN’s track record alone speaks volumes for this company. ACN also offers DSL internet that can be bundled to save you even more.

Because ACN is a customer acquisition business, nobody but ACN will get this startup fee. In other words, no representatives are paid any commission at all on the startup fees paid in by new representatives that you bring into your business. This fee goes towards getting you your startup “kit” and materials, and paying for the excellent and vast resources that ACN make available to you for your business.

The Best, Most Effective, and Affordable way to generate your own leads, list, prospects, and sphere of influence is through the system myself and team are currently using (we teach and use rejection free marketing techniques along with free online marketing techniques). ACN not only requires substantial customer acquisition but makes it clear that not all Independent Representatives make a profit and no one can be guaranteed success as an ACN Independent Representative. Success can only come through individual specific efforts in acquiring customers and recruiting other Independent Representatives who must also acquire customers.

ACN is one of those solid companies that, has withstood the test of time, out-lasting most, if not all, of their competitors. ACN is one of those great companies with good management that survived past the five year typical maximum life-span of a new business. ACN is the world’s largest direct selling telecommunications company offering highly competitive local calling, long distance, Internet, wireless and digital phone services to consumers and small businesses in the United States, Canada, Europe and Asia Pacific.

One thing that ACN is doing is video, as in video phones that use a regular internet connection, and you can take it with you anywhere you have an internet connection. This allows you to see and talk to anyone, anywhere. Whether that be for business, or pleasure, it is “the” (and I hate to say it) next big thing! I believe ACN has figured out this thing, network marketing, and the best part is that, now think about it, most everyone you know has a cell phone, local and long distant phone service, some sort of satellite (dish), internet (DSL or Dialup). Which means that if you introduce them to your new business and they don’t see the potential (which some people just can’t see) could use the same service they already have, same company (Alltel, AT&T, Sprint, etc..) just continue to get it except through you, and you make money every time someone pays their bill.

Also, you then own a home based business giving you substancial tax break. The home based business is THE last and probably Greatest tax shelter for us “normal” folk to keep more of our hard earned money.

This is worth looking into and looking is always FREE! Look us up at.. http://www.waytoadvance.com

If you want to contact me and discuss your options and talk about your fit with this company and get a free Success From Home magazine, head here and use my email…

Scams, Network Marketing, and How to Tell the Difference

0
Digg me

At this time of economic “stress”, there will be an abundance of “Network Marketing” SCAMS. I used quotation marks in Network Marketing because, a scam is never Network Marketing. Scams give both network marketing, MLM, referal marketing, direct selling etc.. a black eye. There are legitimate business opportunities out there, yes there is a myriad of network marketing companies, comp plans, and people involved and that is where the problem lies.

Any time there is a down turn in the economy there will be vultures that literally “prey” on people. When people are struggling, seaching for something to help them over come, these people (scammers) seem to come out of the woodwork. With that, how can you tell a legitimate business opportunity from a scammer dressed in sheeps skin? Here is a list of “things” you might need to look for, all or just some of them should either “raise your red flag” or point you toward more investigation before joining.

1) The promise that you can make $20-$50 thousand a month in a couple of months doing nothing. Now don’t get me wrong, this can be done, it just isn’t that easy. Most network marketing companies ARE willing to pay you for your effort because you are cutting out the middle man (no advertising etc..) and as long as you are willing to put in the effort and expand your efforts by helping others expand there efforts etc.. you’ll probably make good money!

2) No legitimate product or service, or a product that is marked up higher than normal, so as to “distribute” money up or down line. If you are suppose to sell a certain amount, and are told that if you buy a “case load” or large stocks of it to put you into the next “level”, you may want to do more investigation.

3) What does the Better Business Bureau say about the company? You can go on the BBB site and check by simply typing in the name of the company, such as ACN. The site will search for any complaints on the company and list them. This is a great tool to see who has made a complaint. If there are enough complaints the company will end up on the BBB’s queuestionable list, avoid them.

One last thing, just because something sounds “too good to be true” doesn’t necessarily mean you should stop looking. Look at ACN for example, when you look into the business and all the aspects one may say, that sounds too good…yadda yadda. However one thing you need to look for in a “legit” business opportunity longevity is one of the things a company must have. A scam normally doesn’t last long, 1-2 years may be tops. As in ACN, 15 years. They are a great example of longevity.

Good luck, don’t give up, and once in, NEVER NEVER NEVER quit.

The Best Free Blogging Site, What’s It Look Like?

1
Digg me

Finding and choosing a free blogging site can feel overwhelming because there are so many available options. There are several large free blog-hosting sites (blogger.com, wordpress.com, blog.com, just to name a few) that dominate the blogosphere, but there are also smaller sites. Whether you decide to join up with an established site like blogger.com or whether you choose to sign on with a relatively new venture depends on what your priorities are. Then there are untold number of “local” sites that have blogs as a part of their website.

That IS another option in which you can make a point, get your two cents in and at the same time, get yourself out there as an internet presence. Most online news papers have blog spots where you can post, so it is literally an open book with many pages and basically limited only to your imagination.

Reliability is one of the best reason to opt for a large and more well known free blogging site. When you choose to have an established brand host your blog, you can feel secure that your blog will not crash often and will not disappear in the middle of the night. A company that has been around for a while is likely to have the resources to make sure that its clients aren’t unpleasantly surprised by any technical glitches. However, many bloggers decide that this isn’t enough of a selling point.

The bloggers who choose to go with smaller, newer blog hosting sites do so for a variety of reasons, but perhaps the number one advantage is a fairly abstract one. Bloggers tend to relish the fact that the internet is a place where the underdog has a strong chance of success, and by choosing to have a small company as a blog host, a blogger is casting his or her vote for David against Goliath.

Making Money with Articles: Picking a Good Web Hosting Company

1
Digg me

Choosing a good web hosting company is vital to keeping your website “open for business” and your costs down to a minimum. There are many to choose from, as well as different pricing plans to look over. Depending on the amount of sites that you intend on building, you may want to think about a larger web space in the long run. SBI

You may want to consider starting with the smallest web space that you can get to test the waters, just in case niche website Internet marketing does not work out for you. You may want to add more and more content as you learn, so make sure that your provider offers the option for expansion.

You will want to find a provider that has a reliable service. If your site is down or takes to long to open up when visitors are trying to get in, it may lead them to click out of your site and move on to someone else’s site. Most people will not return to a site they have had a bad experience with, they will remember the good and bad. For this very reason, it is probably best to stick with a well known company, a company with a great reputation like
HostMonster.com
. There are many small hosting providers that offer space for as low as $.50 to $1 per month, be aware though, you never know what you will be getting and many of them want you to pay for at least a years worth up front.

You will also want one that has the most affordable hosting. If you can create your own small site or have one made for you, then you will probably be able to find space for as little as $3 to $4 per month. However, if you need to choose a company that offers a What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) website builder, then you will probably end up paying $10 to $15 per month for the smallest amount of space. But if this is the only way that you can build a site, then it is necessary. This cost is usually worth the investment as it can help you generate both profits for your affiliate site, and generate business partners for your primary MLM, if you are going that route.

Some web hosting providers may also offer a deal on a yearly URL or other products when you make a web hosting purchase.

Bottom line is, whatever web hosting provider you choose will depend on your individual needs and what your budget can looks like. Hopefully you will be able to snap up a well known provider at a low price who will allow you to upgrade your service as needed.

Review Of Dan Lok’s How Publish Your Own eBook

How to Publish Your Own Best-Selling eBook in 21 Days
or Less, Without Writing
!” By Dan Lok

I recently purchased this eBook from Dan Lok. And
I’ll admit, I was skeptical at first. There are a ton
of “How to Write an eBook” products on the market, but
Dan claimed his system was different.

First off I’ll start with the good parts. It is
certainly different than any other product that offers
to teach you how to write an eBook. It is a more
automated system, which means less work for you.

In my opinion, the best part of this eBook is the
example documented by Dan’s co-author, Todd Lance. He
had never written an eBook, and Dan challenged him to
go through the entire process from start to finish and
publish a new best-seller using his system. At the end
of each chapter Todd gives a play by play of his
experiences both good and bad.

I’ve read a lot of internet marketing books, but was
always left with a lot of questions. Being able to see
someone actually go through the entire process answered
a lot of those questions I would normally be asking.
And it did something completely different, it proved
that it actually worked.

Finally, this system is easy enough to work for anyone.
You don’t need any writing, marketing, or internet
experience to make it work. It’s the closest thing to
a paint-by-numbers system you will find.

Now for the not so good parts. This eBook really does
show you how to publish a best-seller in 21 days, but
you have to work hard to get this done. Anyone can do
it if you can work 3-4 hours a day. But if you can
only do 1-2 hours a day, it will take you a couple of
weeks longer.

Also, this eBook doesn’t have much information about
marketing. This isn’t a big deal because the system
markets your eBook on auto-pilot. But if you’re
looking for a technical book on the details of eBook
marketing, just know that this eBook is focused on
making money fast rather than actual eBook marketing
theories.

If you’re looking for a proven system for publishing
best-selling eBooks, then Dan Lok’s “How to Publish
Your Own Best-Selling eBook in 21 Days or Less, Without
Writing!” is the best system being sold today.

Top 4 Tips for getting the best results from your AdSense Ads

1
Digg me

What you earn from Google AdSense program is totally dependent on you and your abilities. Listed here are some tips that you can use to get the best results from your AdSense Ads, these are in no sense of the word the end all, be all tips, only “some” things that you will benefit from:

Use channels

Channels help you in conducting a better analysis of the performance of your AdSense Ads. You can use custom channels to check what web pages are earning more revenue and which ones are not doing so well. Fact of the matter is, custom channels can be used for conducting analysis on multiple aspects at the same time. You can use this analysis for making amendments to your AdSense Ads or website content in order to get better results.

Ad customization and positioning

Shape, Size and color are the three properties of your AdSense Ads that you can easily control and customize in a way that the Ads don’t look out of place when served on your website. One could either make your Ads stand-out from the rest of the content on your webpage or make them blend with the overall webpage. Moreover, you can identify the hot spots on your website and position your Ads accordingly. Ad customization and Ad positioning are, in fact, the best ways to attract more clicks to your AdSense Ads.

Content quality

‘The best generally overcomes the rest’ – is a very true saying. If you host quality, value based, content on your website and provide regular updates to your visitors, you can expect more traffic to your website. This will then turn into more leads, to more ad impressions, and most likely more clicks.

Use AdSense Ads on all pages

If you have multiple web pages on your website, you should include AdSense Ads on all of them. Since the visitors can enter your website through a number of different pages, having AdSense Ads on all the pages will surely increase your earnings.
